Today is my 30 something-ith birthday. It has been a fun weekend of celebrating....
Initially the plan was to go to CUBS/cards game (the boys are in town ON my birthday- that never happens!). But we decided that because it was a 3:10 game and it was suppose to be 100 degrees we should not go to the game. Instead let's go out for the evening with Craig and Sarah: Mexican food, maybe the History museum to see the new exhibit. Whatever- just something indoors.
THEN this past Wednesday my sweet friend Julie called and said she had 4 CUBS/cards tickets for Friday night. 100 degrees or not, you just can't pass up free tickets. So we re-revamped and went out to Flaco's for dinner and then headed to the game (AFTER the sun went down). It was SWELTERING. We made it through the half of the 7th inning and headed home. The CUBS lost but it was still a fun evening.
Today I had breakfast with my mom, and sisters and then hung out at our house. Later, I took an afternoon nap. After Dale got home from the gun show (which I graciously LET him go to on MY birthday) we headed to Jilly's Cupcake Bar. You may or may not know that Dale has seizures when we go out for dessert. He does NOT believe in spending money on dessert items such as ice cream or cupcakes. Because, "You could buy a whole gallon of ice cream from Schnucks for the price of one blah, blah, blah...." So for him to agree to take us to Jilly's was a true gift. We had a fantastic time eating cupcakes and opening presents. We ended the evening with a trip to Barnes and Noble. I got to wander the store for almost an hour while Dale read to the kids. Another great gift.
Oh, and the CUBS won today!
It was a great birthday weekend...

partying at Jilly's...
Even tho it's a birthday celebration the kids had to share a cupcake. Not only are they TOO big for 1 child to consume, Dale would have DIED had he been forced to pay for 5 cupcakes.
This one was ALL mine. Sweet and Salty. AH-mazing!
presents...
decorations- just for me (well, not really)...
the kids picked out my beautiful jewelry...
Notice Dale is not in the pictures at Jilly's. He was passed out on the floor while we ate our 3 cupcakes...

You are so funny. You SO look like you are 20 something. I promise. :)
Happy (belated) Birthday, Amy! Seriously, I am laughing OUT LOUD!!! Perhaps you should convince Dale to go into the cupcake business, it sounds profitable!
So glad you had a great b-day! Those cupcakes look amazing.
Love it!!!!! Happy birthday! Can't wait until Dale has to pay for a wedding cake!
