For the last 2 days we have successfully sported tails (exactly 1 year ago she wore them for the first time).

spring evenings
We love spring time evenings. Catching caterpillars, baseball, basketball, and bike rides are on our list of favorite things! Tonight was a perfect evening...
Reagan found a caterpillar in the grass. She has decided that picking them up is acceptable.
She also decided that if she was going to be a better baseball player she needed to wear her hair in some form of tail- pony or piggy. It's not quite long enough for pony so we went with option 2...
Notice her pants are on backwards?!
a serious player...

homerun...
Carsyn is also determined to help her sister be a better ball player...

And just an fyi... We do not have a dog. We had company for dinner last night and they brought Samson to play with the kids. He is a great dog. The kids want to keep him. It is not in our future....

natural athlete
Carsyn takes after me in many ways- of which I won't get into- however, one area she is much like her father is in her natural athletic ability. She loves sports and is quite good at most of the things she tries. She also LOVES to run (hopefully she won't run into the same hip problems). Her favorite thing about school is PE (and recess). We have a fantastic PE teacher who teaches the children well and makes it enjoyable. Carsyn LOVES it. Today she came home with the highest of all PE awards: the Presidential Physical Fitness Award! There were only 2 in the second grade. She was so excited and we are extremely proud of our girl!

bits of my weekend vol 1
Recently I started reading a new blog. I'm not sure if it's considered stalking when you don't know the person AT ALL but none-the-less..... Six in the City is a great blog about a family who moved from suburbia to the big city. It sounds like an amazing adventure - that's why I'm along for the ride via the blog-world.
Anywhoo... she writes a post each week called "bits of my weekend". I thought it was a neat idea so here we go....
Saturday we went to Trivia Night at the kids school. We hosted a table with some of our favorite people. We came in d.e.a.d. last (out of 20 tables) but we had fun! There was a silent auction going on at the same time. Dale's parents purchased Carsyn's class pottery for us. It's cute and funny at the same time. Cute because it's birds but funny because it's Cardinal birds- ya know like the stinkin' Cardinals that my kids have decided to cheer for.
Sunday we laid low. The kids took reading book rests. Notice Carsyn and Luke's reading choice... See it?! On her headboard?
Let's get a closer look....
Here's is Luke's choice...
Can you tell their father has been taking some classes??
We also collected caterpillars and made habitats...
This is Carsyn's version of Apolo Anton Ohno...
It was a good weekend....

favorite magazine
Our favorite magazine, Family Fun, came in the mail yesterday. Reagan is always the first one to pour over its pages. Naturally when Reagan's friend Lucy came over to play today the FIRST thing they did was start a craft....
piggy block heads (from pg. 89)...

happy earth day
We planted 3 dogwood trees behind the basketball hoop.
The kids love helping their dad work outside (not so much inside).
