all about me
Thursday was Reagan's All About Me day at school. All About Me is a day to celebrate how God uniquely created each JK friend. Reagan got to bring in 5 things that are important to her. She chose: her blankie (of course), her new pink Bible, Beautiful (her teeny tiny baby from Auntie), her picture cube that has pictures of her at different stages in her life, and a monkey baby toy. She stood in front of the class and explained where she got each item and why it was special to her. She was especially pleased to have her blankie with her. After that she got to call 6 of her friends to the front to help arrange her name and clap it out. It was a fun way for the JK friends to get to Reagan a little better....

soccer
Carsyn scored her first goal today!! Her friend Jessica passed C the ball and she shot it right into the goal. It was AWESOME! She grinned and ran away cheering. It was fun to see. Of course today was the day I chose not to bring my camera. A few minutes later that game was called due to an incoming thunderstorm. No matter. We still walked away all smiles.

the zoo
Monday Reagan and I headed to the zoo with Sarah, Parker and Jonah. We went to the "free hour" so we hit the stingrays, carousel and children's zoo first. I think the kids would have been satisfied if we stopped there. However, we ended up walking around and seeing the reptiles, lions, zebras and camels (and of course the prairie dogs- R's favorite!)
On the way out of the zoo we had a near death experience with a police officer. We were in the cross walk (at the 3 way stop by the North entrance) and a police officer sort of half way stopped then, WITHOUT LOOKING, turned the corner- he was coming right at us! He STILL was not looking! He was inches from hitting Sarah and Jonah before he slammed on his breaks. Parker, Reagan and I would have been casualties too. If that wasn't bad enough he then looked at us and said, "go on" (or something like that.) What?! No apology? Are you kidding me?! You almost massacred women and children and the most you can say is, "move along." If I hadn't been breathless and shaking I would have had the forethought to write down his information- what city he was from, his car #, something! Anyway... We survived- but have lost a little bit of respect for the men in uniform...
R finally touched the stingrays!R loves the bench!
R wishes she had a little rat like this...
Luke ended up at the zoo just minutes after we left. Here he is with his Monday play group...
