Today was a good day. We slept in (very abnormal here), went to a birthday party at the park, had a nice a rest time in the afternoon, did some fun projects and topped the evening off with a fire. It's now 9:00 and I am waiting for my sweet children to come down from their sugar rush and FALL ASLEEP!!!!!

school

Today was Reagan's first "official" day (last week she only went for 1 hour). Her favorite thing was seeing Luke in the hall. They held hands. :)

Today was Luke's 2nd day of school:

Mom:
What was your FAVORITE thing about JK today buddy?

Luke:
Mom, we did the same old thing!

i wish...

Reagan:
I wish I could be a bad guy.

Mom:
Why would you want to be a bad guy?

R:
Being a bad guy is way cooler.

M:
But God want us to be good guys.

R:
MOM! I just want to be one for a few minutes. Then I will turn back into Reagan.

*Don't we all......

first day of school

Today was the first day of school for the kids. It was a morning of emotion (which I won't get into).
Here are some of the kid's comments:

Carsyn as I was waking her at 6:45: No mom. I'm too tired! Can't I go back to sleep?

Reagan while packing her backpack: Mom, I'm going to take Ping (a favorite book) to school. Mrs. Heinemann is going to teach me to read today.

Luke in the JK class: I love you mom, BYE! (which if you remember last year you will know what an answer to prayer this is!)

Reagan after her day was over (at 10:15): Mom, I REALLY miss my brother!

After we picked up Luke from his class (at 12:15) we went to peek at Carsyn eating lunch. We didn't see her so we started to leave. Reagan started crying: No mom, we CAN'T leave Carsyn. We CAN'T leave Carsyn!.

off to 1st grade (our first full day experience)!

new camo backpack (his new favorite song is Camouflage by Plus One)

starting a new trend...

carsyn's friends- can you tell she is nervous?

reading in JK...

puzzle time...

Here are our end-of-the-day comments:

Carsyn: I had no favorite things but if I had to choose it would be gym class.

Luke: My day was FANTASTIC!

Reagan: I'm going to high school next year.

auntie day

Carsyn had an "Auntie Erin day" on Friday. She has been wanting to spend some quality time with Auntie since spring time and our schedules finally coincided. They went to the park, Target, Wendy's, and Gateway Fun Park (I think that's right?!?). She LOVED the mini golf, the arcade and go carting. When she got home she said , "Mom, for my birthday I want to have my party there." (It's not til March!) So cute....

cousin fun

Micah Vaughn came over on Friday (and Carsyn went to Auntie Erin's for a day of fun).

This morning we made a Tree Fort (thanks to Charlie and Lola- a really fun tv show).

When Eli and Sam came it was demolition time...

Sam liked the box..

Carsyn playing a new go cart racing Wii game (she went go-carting for real with Auntie Erin on Friday!) Eli was "helping"...

Reagan playing with one of our new horses...

a new season

i LOVE celebrations. any gift giving occasion is a favorite of mine (can you tell my love language?!). today happens to be my birthday and i am NOT excited. oh, i will enjoy the yummy cheesecake, the gifts my children give me and i LOVE the painting dale bought me this summer. however, i am NOT excited about number 35. i feel like someone different. i am now the "older person". the responsible mother of 3. i don't qualify to shop "juniors" anymore (i would look ridiculous!) i am no longer able to devour 1/2 a bag of oreo's and go on my merry way. i can be called ma'am. the list goes on. it really isn't setting well with me. i realize being 1/2 of 70 is not a horrible thing. but if you see me somewhere hiding in a corner you'll know that i am trying to turn back the clock so the oreo and i can be friends again....

birthday dinner... (check out the beautiful flowers!)

YUMMY mocha cheesecake...

reagan got me a journal and promptly asked if she could draw in it :)

carsyn got me connect four- to play together :)

luke bought me jewelry (he's in constant training)

yesterday DALE (and luke) made my cheesecake- from scratch! he is good to me......
