Today we went to Jungle Gardens. We walked around, saw the reptile show and the birds of prey show. We learned that birds of prey include any bird that are solely meat eaters. That includes flamingos, penguins, owls and many other that you wouldn't consider. Interesting....
Luke was not interested in touching or holding any of the animals- he would much rather watch from a distance. The girls we up for the challenge. Carsyn even fed the flamingos for the first time! We had a great time.

the mote
Today it was a bit cool (high 60's) and rainy so we hung around the house and played. Then in the afternoon we packed up the kids and headed to the Mote Aquarium. It is one of our favorite aquariums. It is small and very kid friendly. There are several hands on activities. It is not overwhelming or super crowded so it is more fun for the kids.
They have a megaladon fossil (reproduction). We learned about them a few summers ago. It was really cool to see how large they really were.
They have a new penguin exhibit. 6 African penguins- one female (Ninja) and 5 males. It is a traveling exhibit so it was nice that we got to see it...
a new turtle...
