weekend at grandma and grandpa's w/o grandma and grandpa
We spent the weekend at Grandma and Grandpa's. They weren't there (ha!) but we got to spend quality time with the rest of the family (minus mike, dee+1, and thomas). Saturday Mattie ran me around town doing my errands, I made 2 birthday cakes, then we ate dinner at Darrell's. Sunday we went to church, out to lunch and then hung out at Grandma's with everyone and ate pizza. This morning we had breakfast with everyone at the Korner before we left (one of Luke's favorite things). It was a fun weekend!
we had lively conversations with Darrell...

can you say "cheese"
So most of you know that Dale received a cheese making kit for Christmas. Back in December he made cheddar. Time has passed - the cheese has properly aged. He cut into it the other day and we sampled it. It was very yummy. Dale is officially a "cheese maker". We have colby aging in the cheese den. Yet another craft he has mastered....
cutting the cheese :)
wow- look at that cheddar (not the 1st time he's heard that!!) :)
C LOVED it, L only likes grandma's square cheese and R said: yuck!

seven
Carsyn turned 7 today. It is amazing how FAST time flies when you have children. Some days it can't go by fast enough but other days I wish it would all slow down. In 7 more years she will be a teenager, in 7 more years she will be 21! YIKES! WAIT A MINUTE!!!
Carsyn is an amazing little girl. She is smart, determined, sweet, loving and growing more and more confident as the days pass. She has grown in so many ways this past year. She learned to read, swim, ride a 2 wheel bike, and, in August, started school full day for the first time. She has grown more independent too- even calling her BF on the phone to tell him important news. Oh, and did I mention she is a whiz on the computer? She loves checking the latest blog news (on every blog listed at the right- so watch what you say Dee!), she checks the weather on accuweather AND plays her computer games- with out help! The list could go on and on...
I enjoy seeing her transform into the beautiful girl God has created her to be. I am am looking forward to seeing what is in store this year!
a well chosen theme (it's our year...)
dinner party...
adam...
a bath toy she has been wanting FOREVER!
her BF made a cute card: a replica of the food pyramid.
SERIOUSLY it was the cutest thing EVER!!

a daddy/daughter devotional book...
ticket to her fav museum...
cake time...
m decided to finish it off... :)

3k
Our school has such an amazing 3K program. The teachers are beyond fantastic! I enjoy watching Mrs. H and Mrs. M teach, encourage and love my children. I will miss them after this school year is over (I ALMOST want to have more children so we can have these teachers again!) This year will be a favorite memory of mine. Last night at our school auction "I" purchased the 3K pottery plate as a memento of this wonderful year ("I" really means an anonymous donor- not me). A BIG THANK YOU, THANK YOU to our donor! We LOVE the plate.....
R's fingerprint is next to her BF Henry...

my sweet baby girl
i love this picture- it shows her feisty red hair, her sweetness, her coziness (is that a term?!?), and I love that it shows her snuggling with her well- worn blankie....

dasies
C is a GIRL Scout (actually a Daisy). I know it comes as a bit of a shock since she is not really into "girly" things but she LOVES it. Today she had a meeting and we were to provide the snack. Dale suggested we bring in live rabbits, have the girls kill them, skin them roast them and then eat them. He thought that would be a great merit badge. Needless to say we took another route. I wanted to make something fun yet relatively healthy (PLUS- one of the GS moms is "super mom"- i felt the pressure...) Anywhoo... I ended up making edible flowers. Fruit for the healthy part and rice krispe treats for the sweet treat. It was fun to make (and eat) but I made a terrible mess in my kitchen!!

such a cute Daisy...

the polar museum
The 1st grade at C's school hosted a Polar Museum. They have been studying the Arctic for 3 months. The children presented information on geography, people, and animals. It was amazing to see and hear how much they learned about God's creation.

I took a video of her speech but am having trouble uploading. I just tell you that she was AMAZING!!!
