For the last year or so highway 64/40 has been shut down for major construction. It has sent waves of chaos and confusion throughout parts of our city because everyone has been using various routes (otherwise quiet) to get downtown. FINALLY it is finished and set to open for the morning commute!
Today there was a ribbon cutting ceremony and walkers, runners and bikers were allowed to trek across the beautiful road. We joined the freezing cold crowd this afternoon. The kids were super excited to run where no man has run before (or will again- legally). Luke only stopped running for me to shoot a photo (he wanted to run all the way downtown!) Carsyn mostly walked- soaking it all in. Reagan got tired of it very quickly but was a trooper.
It was a neat experience....
the hanley bridge...she had her hand on her hat almost the whole time!
welcome...reagan brought her binoculars "just in case"
