time crunch
It has been awhile since I have blogged about the house. A lot has been happening. The stucco guys have been working endlessly. It is a LONG process to put stucco on a house. I had no idea! Shane busted through the window so the old and new now connect via door instead of window (except for the dust it is really nice). Adam hooked up the cable and phone. Dale and his dad insulated the garage on Saturday. Dale worked all day on Sunday putting insulation upstairs (Craig helped again).
It is so great to have people help. At this stage we are anxious to get things accomplished. Dale's surgery creeps closer and closer everyday. We have so much to do before December 5th. He won't be doing much for a long time after that....
The stucco process.
Luke surveying the new passageway. It all makes sense now!
Adam working on the cable/phone and getting hurt (our insurance will not cover that!)
Partially insulated garage.
Dale working upstairs.
Dale and Craig insulating.

family pictures
Finally after 5 years we have had family pictures taken. If I can remember correctly the last one was Carsyn's first Christmas. It is easy to only highlight the kids. We hired a friend of a friend. She met us at the park and followed us around for about 2 hours. She did a great job of capturing our family. We recommend her to everyone. Her website is on the right: jodifieddesigns.

Jodie also took Luke's 4 year pictures....

the balcony
Our balcony door was installed this morning. We are closed in! What that means for us I am not exactly sure...
We decided to put slate on the floor of the balcony. It looks great!
This is the view from the courtyard.....

going to south africa
My parents left this morning for South Africa for 2.5 months. They will be working at a camp called Sunbury which is nearish to Durbin. I am excitd and nervous for them all at the same time. I know they will enjoy working, visiting with friends and seeing new territory. I also know that this is a WHOLE new experience for them. They have never left the continental United States. To go for the first time for so long is scary. But if your gonna do it then you might as well go big!

(mom tried checking in at the kiosk but it said she needed special assistance- we knew that already) :)
