Reagan's class had an entire day of celebrating Pioneers. They spend quite a bit of time in the fall studying Pioneers and the culminating activity is Pioneer Christmas. Everyone has a character and they dress up like that pioneer child. They make butter, have a pancake lunch and do centers: make a clothes pin doll, tin can stilts, log cabins and write a letter on old fashioned paper. It is such a fun day!

this weekend my baby turned 9!
Reagan wanted a farm party- ever since her class went to a dairy farm this fall. She even had me find her a pair of overalls, just like a farmer would wear. I love that she knows exactly what she wants. We painted piggy banks, played pin the tail on the pig, had sac races, played the clothes pin drop game and constructed and decorated barns. All her closest friends came! It's a sweet group of girls.
It was such a great party!

fall fun
Yesterday was a beautiful fall day so we decided to go hiking. We are always looking for fun places to hike so we headed down 44 to Route 66 Park. We had heard there was lots of great trails so we were excited to explore!
We started off on a gravel path through the woods. Half a mile later it ended and we took the "inner loop" around the inside of the park. It was a paved road that cars rode on. Most of the trails were that way. We found one other gravel path and took that back around to the car. After about 2 hours of hiking we discovered that this was not the place for us. The kids were totally bored and the "hiking" was more like road walking.
I only took pix on the real trails....
