weekend update

This Friday and Saturday 10 women gathered at a friends farm.  It was a much needed time of relaxation and rejuvenation for all of us.  We ate, watched movies, walked about the property (plus one quick walk to look at stars at 2am!), read magazines, crafted a bit and laughed a lot.   I am so thankful for these sweet friends.

fan mail

My non-Cardinal loving child decided to write some fan mail.  She chose a worthy recipient.  I too am an admirer of Albert- how can you not be?!

tea time

Today my sister-in-law, Erin, and I took my mom to a tea house.  She has always wanted to go with the girls (technically it was her Mother's Day gift but we are just now going).   It was quite a drive- it's not often I make a day trip to south county!  It was worth it though.  The place was nice and the food was good.  We enjoyed the time together (we missed you Andrea).

firsts

Tonight was a big night in the Beachy household. The 3 littlest Beachys dressed up for the first time on Halloween. I told them about a month ago that we were going to let them dress up. Initially we decided they should be rock, paper, scissors (very clever, I know.... thankyouverymuch pinterest). Later the kid pressure won out and they decided on ninjas. Not just any ninjas though- lego ninjas. So we ended up as Cole, Kai and Nya. They were the cutest fiercest ninjas around. We met the Walseths on main street and begged for candy at every shop. The kids had so much fun!

end of the season

This weekend was our last camping trip of the season. We decided to try a new park- St. Joe's. It was a really nice park. The kids enjoyed hiking, biking and tramping through the forest. I spent most of the weekend sleeping away a sickness- thankfully my sweet husband took over and did everything.

gourds are not her friend

A few weeks ago we went to visit family. My kids love to run around at Grandmas playing in the field or the garden. Reagan decided to check out the gourds in the garden. She picked one and decided to play with it for a bit. Her hair blew in her face and she wiped it away, rubbed her eyes and then started to SCREAM! She kept rubbing her eyes and screaming. She ran to find her dad (I was gone shopping). Dale could not figure out was wrong. He ended up having the pour water on her face. He even had to hold her eyes open to flush them out. Grandpa got her to explain that she picked a gourd in the garden. However, they don't have gourds in their garden. They went out to see where she had picked the mystery veggie and it turned out that it was a salsa pepper. Poor girl. He face and eyes were we red all day. Poor girl....

40

Today is the day- Dale is now the big 4-0!  It seems like just another day.  I guess when you get this old...  kidding.  I used to think 40 was old- not-so-much anymore.

Yesterday we celebrated by hosting a western-style party.  After a month (or so) of planning, shopping, creating, sewing, cooking and arranging it all came together.....

Friends came over to celebrate and feast on some good grub...

I wish I would have taken more photos but I was too busy refilling, eating and talking.  The food highlights were: Dale's famous bacon wrapped bbq shrimp, a burger bar, apple pie with hard sauce AND pumpkin cheesecake with bourbon spiked cream sauce.  There was much more to eat but those were definitely the highlights.

We had such a great evening.  We have terrific friends and feel so blessed.

Happy Birthday Dale!
