happy birthday sweet girl

Today is the official day.  My baby is 7!  At dinner we each went around and said what we love about Reagan...
Carsyn: I love that she is my little sister.
Luke:  I love that she always lets me play with her.
Dad: I love her hugs.
Mom: I love that she is full of JOY!

We are so happy that you are in our family! Happy 7th Birthday sweet girl!

we miss you

Carsyn is always talking about her grandparents.  Every night she prays for them.  We decided to frame a map of their location.  That way we can see exactly where they are.

family party

Today we celebrated my baby's 7th birthday (which is Wednesday).  First of all, it's difficult to believe that my youngest is 7.  I feel like just the other day her big sister was wearing that 7 shirt!  Time goes by SO fast.

Reagan is quite the little young lady.  She loves all things girlie: pink, dresses, ballet, and dancing.  She loves to read, write, do art and hang out with her mama.  She does not love school but does love being with her friends.  She is feisty and fun all at the same time.  We are so proud that she is our daughter!

 check out her new nails!

basketball

Luke had his first basketball game tonight.  He was so excited!  Most of the boys were just interested in having the ball.  What can you expect?!  They are 7.  They did have glimpses of team play.  There was plenty of passing and some good rebounding.  There are only 6 of them so they played most of the game.  The boys were troupers!  Luke scored a few times.  He even scored the winning basket at the buzzer (22-24)!  It was incredible!  He loves this game....

Luke was great at covering his man!

off to the races

Two of Dale's math classes teamed up with two upper school classes to design and build cardboard boats.  The students used the concepts they have been learning in class to design their boats.  The challenge for each team was to build a boat that would carry one student across the pool.  The teams raced against each other.  The top 2 winners got the chance to race against the headmaster- who was using the boat Dale built.

I took the kids out of school so they could witness the races.  It was exciting to watch.  Who knew math could be fun?!

 the cutest spectators!

These 2 were battling it out...

the red headed kid on the right was the overall winner...

it's christmastime in the city

The Christmas season is upon us.  The tree is up, the house is lit and the presents are wrapped.  It feels good to be ready.  To sit back and soak in all the Joy of the season.  This year the kids school is participating in a school wide service project.  Each class is collecting Christmas gifts for children at  Faithful Friends.  Even better than that each class is praying for 3 specific kids throughout the school year.  My kids are super excited to "get to know" the kids they are supporting.  The school is also collecting change so we can buy the Faithful Friends House a washer and Dryer.   We have cleared out our whole house of every bit of change we can locate.  The kids are loving it!
