city garden revisited

Today we went back to the City Garden with bathing suits on! We met several friends there- the kids had a fantastic time!! It rained for a little bit but no one really cared. We LOVE that place!!!

funny story: Reagan was in the "pool" and a police officer walked by. She looked at him and then splashed water on him! HA! only Reagan...

Later Luke told me the officer said "hey! Don't do that!" (but had a grin on his face) Then he asked, "Why did he smile if Reagan splashed him?"

I said, "If a super cute 4 year old splashes a police officer it's funny. No one else can get away with it."

prayer

I struggle with praying for my children. It's not that I don't want to, need to or desire to. It's just that "life" takes over and I let it slip. Sometimes for days and days. Today I stumbled across a monthly chart of prayer for your children. I am all about charts so I am hoping it will keep me focused. Check it out here.

We struck gold this morning at breakfast. I tried a new pancake recipe from MckMama that was FANTASTIC! It was a little like eating banana bread in pancake form. It was super delicious and super healthy! In case you are interested here is the recipe:

MckPancakes:
2 c. pancake mix (any kind)
1/2 c flaxseed meal
1/2 tsp cinamon

mix and set aside

1/2 c creamy almond butter
1 egg
1 banana
1/3 c plain yogurt
1/4 c honey

mix in blender until smooth

1 1/2 c water

mix all ingredients together (blend well). make pancakes!

We will be eating these from now on!

water slide success

Tonight we invited friends over for a little water slide fun and dinner. It was the perfect evening. All the children really enjoyed the slide. One of these days I KNOW we will be making a trip to the emergency room. Some of their moves are over the top!

city garden (on manual)

Today we went to the brand new City Garden. If you live in St. Louis it is a must see! We had a lot of fun running around and seeing all the sculptures. We took a yummy picnic lunch too. When it is warmer we will go back with our bathing suits ("we" meaning the kids). There was lots of water to play in!
The only negative to the Garden: NO bathrooms in the area!
