Today, Shane and I finished framing the front interior bathroom wall. We then spent some time taking measurements so Okaw can build the trusses to match the existing ones. That was an interesting exercise as it was a direct application of the concept of slope that I teach my 8th grade students. We then built the south exterior wall and installed the sheeting.

sloooowly progressing...
Here are some shots of from the last few days. We only were able to work a couple of hours today (7/17) due to a thunderstorm....the rest of the day was spent scraping paint from the 23' 2 x 8 (the real deal) boards that we are salvaging for the roof overhang.

Dale and Shane (and my dad) put up the back wall this afternoon. The big open area will be the deck door.

100 years of
coal dust and bird crap! Dale and Shane took the clay tile off the roof today and uncovered 100 years of debris. Dale said it smelled like an old barn (is that good or bad?!). So on top of the blistering heat they had to deal with that aroma. All in a day's work!

ahhhh.....
Today bobcat guy returned. Let's just say that what he did today will make us sleep much better at night! HA!!! The trench is filled in!! YEA!!! TONS of rock was brought in for that and to level the courtyard area. It is a huge difference!!
Shane and Dale finished the floor trusses and began to put the subfloor in.
