valentines

Today we started AND finished our valentine's for class parties. I LOVE getting a bit more creative than the character valentine's that you buy at the store.

We got our idea from Super Mom Moments and the kids all agreed to do the same valentine. It's one of the many perks of having a 6,7 and 8 year old. :)

my little redbirds

Today was sports day at school. My children took the opportunity to wear their Christmas gifts from their grandparents. I never thought I'd say this but my kids are, in fact, Cardinals fans (even Reagan).

I have to admit they do look super cute in their jerseys....

funny girl

here is a list of the funny things Reagan has been saying lately:

You don't have to tell me that winter is hard on my skin. That is why I put Noni lotion on every day!

Can I have an anti-oxygen luna bar for ladies?

My favorite place to get vitamin D is Florida. It's much closer to the equator so there is more vitamins there.

Oh, I am SO taking this to college with me.

friends

Reagan had one of her favorite friends over for a playdate on Saturday. These two sweet girls are 2 peas in a pod. They have so much fun together: imagining, playing and creating. It is fun to watch them!

the blizzard of 2011

All last weekend the news reports were scaring us into believing that we would be having the storm of the century. Sleet, freezing temps, ice and then snow. Lots of snow. Somewhere between 12 and 20 inches.

Sunday the grocery store was packed. Shelves were emptied. People were crazy.

Monday I did a few errands in the morning - it was raining. I went at noon to pick Reagan up from school (cause she is a half day friend). My car had ice on it so I got lazy and told Carsyn and Luke's teachers that I was taking them home (I didn't want to come back!) About that time a friend called and said Westminster was closing at 12:30. Excellent. We were all about to be home for the afternoon and evening. :) We went to the library to prepare. Nothing says being snowed in like a fresh batch of books!

Later that night it got cold. The rain kept coming and everything froze over. School was canceled for Tuesday. Ice was covering everything and the SNOW was coming!!

All day we did the "right" snow day stuff. Including some evening sledding. We waited for the 12 to 20" with baited breath. That night WCA and CCS called again and said no school on Wednesday. Although we still had no "real" snow.

I think we may have to call this something other that the blizzard of 2011- when all was said and done we only had a few inches. Maybe it should be named "the 2.5 days we were frozen over in 2011"....
